Bradley, Foster & Sargent’s Tucker Childs Recognized by Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty Award

Bradley, Foster & Sargent is proud to announce that S. Tucker Childs, CFA, CFP®, director of wealth planning & portfolio manager, has been named to the Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty list for 2024. This prestigious recognition celebrates the achievements of outstanding young professionals in the greater Hartford area who are making significant impacts in their industries and communities.

Tucker led the creation of the firm’s wealth planning program. In an interview with the Hartford Business Journal, Tucker said, “Over the last six years, I have been tasked with building consensus among our portfolio managers to develop a wealth planning offering that complements our approach to investment management and provides additional value to our clients.”

The new division has been a success, bringing peace of mind to many existing clients, attracting new ones and strengthening client relations. Tucker is painstaking in his research and has a unique ability to break complex topics down in a way that is easy for his clients to understand.

“He built the division from scratch,” says BFS President and CEO Galan Daukas, “developing the processes and products that would help our clients navigate the entirety of their financial lives, including retirement and their children’s education.”

In addition to his work at BFS, Tucker is on the Estate Business Planning Council of Hartford where he helps organize educational seminars for trusts and estate attorneys. He also volunteers with the CFA Society of Hartford, going to elementary schools twice a year to teach financial literacy as part of their Financial Literacy Day program.

Tucker is a member of the board of trustees at Wheeler Health, where he serves on the finance and retirement committees, leveraging his financial management experience and passion for community service to help guide the financial future of the nonprofit community-based health center.

“His efforts in life and work – driven as they are by curiosity, compassion and fellowship – have had an indelible impact on his community,” said Daukas. “Tucker embodies excellence in his profession and his personal life through proven leadership, innovative entrepreneurship and open-hearted community involvement.”

Tucker and the rest of the honorees will be featured in the August 19th issue of the Hartford Business Journal and celebrated at an awards event on September 19, 2024.
